Winter break/ Sabbatical leave/ Japan

Spent the last week of Christmas break and first week of my sabbatical leave in Japan. Sick in Japan (until I got back to Manila... as in airport to hospital).

The bad news is, I burdened my friends, especially Dian, my dafter (a child born of the sinapupunan of my spirit), and we didn't get to complete the itinerary as planned. But the good news is we have a lot of hangout time for chats, tunganga, watch different news from Youtube, spend more time in the mall (way more than was originally planned), and I lost a bit of weight (5kls lang wag daw tayo maexcite mashado).

Reviewing our photos, I was reminded again that I really never look sick even if very sick. These photos were taken while I have flu and I do not have voice (like literally, I speak in whispers! but still able to invent/narrate "Ang alamat ng media noche" haha!).

New Year's Day in the Temple of Achi Shrine, Kurashiki

Bikan Historical Quarters, Kurashiki

Okayama Castle (Golden Crow, Kin U-jo), built 1346

Todai-ji Daibutsuden, Nara
(yung ang hirap um-aura ng maayos, hindi dahil may sakit ako,
kundi dahil takot ako sa usa! tapos and dami nila! nakatingin pa talaga sya o!!!)

Some random street in Okayama (-3deg phowz)

Some random street in Hyogo (4deg with ambon)

At ito na po ang dahilan kung bakit ako umitim.
Winter sunbather 😂

And 'dis are my favourite things...

Yung Momotaro na bading

Brushstrokes on this Heian Period scroll painting
(iba pa rin talaga ang art IRL. yummy!)

These art things on food stalls

Yung mga manhole covers

Shinkan-Trains 💗

Between this...

And this!

Thanks Dian-chan, Ruthie-chan, Yukie-chan, and TU (na kahit na-indian sa Hyogo, love pa rin ako!), kay Mamu Jing and Tita (on remote location!), Doc Pau for taking the emergency consult, and sa pinakapoging doctor sa Okayama General Hospital na hindi ako pinahirapang mag-Google translate.

Started a year yet again with extra challenge. The last time something like this happened (2022) I had an AWESOME rest of the year... so yeah, I'm betting on that card 💖

Wrote this on Jan 20, by this time I'm slightly coming out of yet another (or maybe remnants) fever+colds bout which started on Thursday (Jan 16 evening).
