FA30 Art Pleasures. This is a GE course, which means I have non-Fine Arts students studying art. Generally, the task is to create lessons in art that will help in raising well-rounded scholars. I choose to use DBAE, which I learned to appreciate more after being thesis adviser for several Art Education majors. (Thank you former advisees!)
The final project for the theoretical part of the lessons is to do an art work analysis using actual art objects (they still have art production sessions later). Since I have limited resources (and strength) this semester, I opted to assign works in and around the College of Fine Arts Compound. Sharing this here now because it seems an effective way, not only for teaching but also for activating the College-- in making a connection between what the students (need to or want to) do, and what facilities we have.
I know UPD CFA's facilities are far from perfect (hello Quezon Hall mamsers!). We have to contend with many things a-breaking, one after the other, physical and figurative. But seeing the students so focused, so into the task at hand regardless of the resources (or lack thereof), was so inspiring. It was somewhat a reminder of WHY WE TEACHERS ARE HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. (Thank you FA30 students!)
HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY!
Thanks to my TA, Sam Feleo. Thank you Parola and exhibitors (ABAY and Tin-Aw for Don Salubayba's). Thank you mga ate sa food kiosks for the turon and big plus! Thank you to whoever designed and decided that we need FA30.

PS. For my TFA150 Art Criticism, we are also using the newly minted CFA Permanent Art Collection as study collection for their writing modules, starting Week8. (Thanks Parola!)
